Point Automates VOE/VOI Checks

By Anthony Garritano

Tony GarritanoCalyx Software, a provider of loan marketing, originating and processing software, has added a verification of employment and income (VOE/VOI) category within the Calyx Network, connecting users of Calyx Point loan origination software to participating employment and income verification vendors.

The addition of the VOE/VOI category allows mortgage brokers and bankers to request up-to-date, fraud-proof verifications of employment and income without leaving the loan file in Point. By accessing the services menu within Point, brokers can directly request verification of a borrower’s employment and income from The Work Number, a division of St. Louis-based TALX, a leading provider of automated employment and income verification.

The Work Number is used by over 50,000 different verifiers including several major mortgage lenders.

"One of the biggest challenges in the loan closing process is managing the steps to request and receive income or employment verification," said Dennis Boggs, senior vice president of Calyx Software. "Integrating The Work Number within the Calyx Network instantly connects brokers to this information, further speeding the loan process."

Also, Point added a record number of interfaces to outside vendors. The November Calyx Network Interface update contained connections to 20 mortgage service providers and includes the first commercial lender, Silver Hill Financial.

The Calyx Network allows users of Calyx Software’s Point loan origination software to connect directly with lenders and mortgage service providers, automating data exchange and streamlining the loan origination process. Updates are automatically installed into Calyx Point and add new providers to the application on a bi-monthly basis.

The Calyx Network Interface update is automatically installed into Point versions 5.2 and higher as users open their software and connect to the Internet.
