Lenders Stretch Out to Brokers

Tony GarritanoWith volume down lenders are more dependent on brokers as an origination channel. As a result, they're rolling out new technology to entice brokers to do business with them. Another added feature lenders are focusing on is using technology to make the process more transparent to both brokers and even the borrower.

For example, US Mortgage, a licensed mortgage banker founded in 1996, has added another feature to their MortgageFlex Systems' LoanQuest lending platform with the addition of WebRegistration, which provides remote brokers real-time wholesale access to the lender's LOS.

US Mortgage continues to grow behind its commitment to provide the very best customer service during the mortgage loan process. As a licensed mortgage banker, US Mortgage provides a broad range of mortgage options to consumers at every level. Through its subsidiary, CU National, US Mortgage offers transparent mortgage services for credit unions nationwide. US Mortgage joined the MortgageFlex client family in 2004, and as their business has grown, so has their access needs.

US Mortgage recently acquired a controlling interest in Icon Residential Capital LLC, with 175 new brokers and 75 account executives nationwide, opening new territories and a wholesale channel of business for them.

"Our recent acquisition of Icon Residential Capital LLC will allow us to expand our customer base exponentially and we need origination tools that can handle that type of growth," stated Michael McGrath Jr., president, US Mortgage. "We're confident that LoanQuest can provide the scalability and interfacing that we require."

Added Phil Scialabba, vice president, US Mortgage, "Timing is crucial in today's market and we wanted to give our brokers every possible advantage. Giving them immediate access to our latest loan programs and products, in turn gives our customers the best available opportunities."

MortgageFlex Systems developed the WebRegistration product as a remote, Web application to access the Residential Lending System. This interface gives brokers immediate access to a current loan. It also gives them all the heavy -duty capabilities of the LOS from anywhere, allowing them to working more efficiently and reducing time to closure.
