Point Upgrade Makes Piggybacks Easier
By James Comtois
San Jose, Calif.-based loan origination software provider Calyx Software
has released the latest version of its Point loan origination software, version 5.4, with increased piggyback loan
functionality, a new loan status bar, added flexibility in reports, more comprehensive truth in lending disclosures
and increased marketing functionality. The upgrade also offers the ability to order title, Title Report and verification
of employment and verification of income.
For piggyback loans, the new version of Point offers a streamlined
process to originate and track these loans. The first and second loans are linked so that with a change in either
loan, that change will flow through to the other, but only if it needs to. The program automatically determines
which data needs to be updated.
Additionally, a new loan status bar resides below the shortcut
toolbar along the left hand side of the screen to so Point users can see a summary of the loan that updates dynamically
as the user works the file.
Point 5.4 also allows for view and permission options, paper
size/orientation, and column width adjustment in reports. Other reporting changes include an option to either type
in the field ID or select it from a dropdown menu, determine which fields are shown and which are hidden by checking
or un-checking the radio buttons, and sort data or change column widths on the generated report for better viewing
and printing.
Title reports, VOEs and VOIs can now be ordered the same way
as credit and flood.
Point 5.4's Truth in Lending screen can now process a wider array
of loan programs, like interest-only biweekly, IO buydowns, option ARMs and hybrid option ARMs.
The software adds artwork to marketing materials and allows the
import of a variety of file types, including jpegs, gifs and bitmaps. It also can resize an imported graphic to
fit into the document.
Pop-up help, which displays a description of the field when you
rest the cursor over it, can be turned function on or off by clicking "select" or "deselect"
in the utilities menu.
